Who are we?

Meet some of the people that work to help protect and look after special places. We are a charity and your money goes directly towards keeping places special for ever, for everyone.

Our cause | National Trust

Once a common sight in hedgerows and on riverbanks, animals like water voles and cuckoos are now in trouble. Discover how rangers are working with farmers to create safe havens for struggling birds, butterflies and wildflowers across the UK.

Our cause | National Trust

Whether it's a place to meet friends and family, get in touch with nature or even bring back memories from the past, special places help bring people together. Hear from other supporters as they share their connection with places close to their hearts.

Riverlands: how we keep our rivers flowing

Rivers are the lifeblood of our landscapes, but now they’re in trouble – and so is the wildlife that depends on them. We’re determined to reverse this decline with an ambitious restoration project to bring our rivers, streams, brooks and becks flowing back to life.

Save the nation’s meadows

Sadly, 97 per cent of our meadows have disappeared since the 1930s. Help us restore 1,000 hectares of wildflower meadows and protect species like the large blue butterfly, the turtledove and the great yellow bumblebee before it's too late.

Find out how we're setting up renewable energy systems while preserving precious landscapes and working with BMWi to extend our network of charging points for electric vehicles across the places we care for.
