Meghan Markle's former LA house is for sale

Before she was a duchess, Meghan Markle’s living situation was a whole lot humbler — though still incredibly charming, it seems. Case in point: the Duchess of Sussex’s former Hancock Park residence is currently on the market for $1.799 million (around £1.5 million), and a peek inside the 2,262-square-foot Colonial-style abode reveals a sweet, sunlit home with ample natural light and Instagram-worthy spaces and fixtures.

The two-storey house, which Markle previously rented with her first husband, Trevor Engelson, has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The ground floor features an open floor plan with the living room front and centre. With natural hardwood floors and pristine white walls, the inviting space largely centres around a fireplace with white mouldings, while a number of floor-to-ceiling picture windows flood the space with natural light. Just beyond the living room is the formal dining room space, which has a wall of French doors that open out onto an outdoor entertaining area.

The kitchen, accessible through an open doorway from the living room, features a cosy breakfast nook and a sweet chef's setup that includes not one but two stoves, a large stainless-steel fridge, custom built-in cabinetry, marble countertops and backsplash, and gold detailing. Elsewhere on the ground floor is the family room, which also faces the front of the home.

Up a set of stairs are the four bedrooms and two of the three renovated bathrooms, one of which is Jack-and-Jill style, shared amongst the three guest bedrooms. The master suite boasts its own bathroom with a beautifully decorative patterned marble accent wall, marble countertops, a glass-enclosed shower-and-tub combo, and a double vanity. Out back, the home has a covered patio and an alfresco dining area framed by a grassy green lawn.

Though it's unlikely they would ever pop by the Hancock Park abode, there has been much talk of Duchess Meghan and husband Prince Harry embarking on a royal tour of the United States in the near future, with a stop in California. Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles, and her mother, Doria Ragland, still lives nearby.
